Oct. 7: Gaithersburg 2, B-CC 1 (15-12, 27-29, 15-9)

The Barons fought hard, but suffered their first loss of the season against Gaithersburg Tuesday. After losing the first game 12-15, they came back in the second game to win 29-27. The third game, however, clinched it for Gaithersburg as they won 9-15.

We are very proud of the team and their winning season! Go Barons!

Oct. 3: B-CC 2, Walter Johnson 1 (19-25, 26-24, 15-11)

It was an exciting match for the Barons as they played Walter Johnson, proving again that this team has the toughness for a winning season. In Game 1, the Barons took an early lead, but the Walter Johnson team came back to tie and despite a strong Barons rally, won 19-25.

Game 2 was a battle. Walter Johnson held them to a very close game, matching them point for point for most of the game. They were tied 24-24, but then the Barons took charge and won 26-24. In Game 3, the Barons were ready for the challenge and beat Walter Johnson 15-11. What a match!

Hats off to a great starting line-up – Midori Powell (setter), Alicia Russo (setter), Julie Siegal, Fatumatta Tunkara, Charlotte Potter, Clare Galasso, and Alexia Chatfield and cheering subs, Karen Sheys, Olivia Senghor and Rachel Westfall!

Oct. 1: B-CC 2, Northwest 0 (25-17, 25-19)

The Barons won their 6th straight match against Northwest, making them undefeated so far this season.  Both teams were a bit slow to start, but it didn't take long for the Barons to take charge of the scoreboard, finishing game one 25-17.  They continued their show of strength and took the second game 25-19.

Come support the team by coming to their next match Oct 3rd against Walter Johnson.

Sept. 11: B-CC 2, Whitman 0 (25-22, 25-21)

In the JV Game of the Week, the Barons beat rival Whitman Vikings in the first two games, keeping up the momentum from their first win against Damascus!  Midori Powell was out injured, but Torrie Russo, Julie Siegel, Charlotte Potter, Fatoumatta Tunkara, Clare Galasso, and Alexia Chatfield kept the Vikings at bay for the first game, winning 25-22.  The Vikings were more challenging in the second game, leading the game by several points, but the Barons pulled through, beating the Vikings 25-21.

Go Barons!

Sept. 5: B-CC 2, Damascus 0 (25-16, 25-13)

The Damascus Hornets were dealt a one-two punch by the Barons this past Friday night!  The starting line-up, Midori Powell, Torie Russo, Julie Siegel, Fatoumatta Tunkara, Charlotte Potter, Claire Galasso and Alexia Chatfield did an excellent job of leading the team to two very strong victories, 25-16 and 25-13, to bring home the win in the first two games. In the beginning of the first game it seemed as if they were pretty evenly matched, but the consistent serving and strong hitting of the Barons soon widened the gap for their first win!  The Barons continued to hustle in the second game, taking a quick lead over the Hornets.  The starting line-up was given relief by subs Olivia Senghar, Karen Sheys and Rachel Westfall, and the Hornets were just not able to keep up, giving up the second game to the Barons in pretty short order!

Look for the game time later this week against rival school, Whitman, and come support girls' volleyball!
