Alex Doll was named to the Mocorunning.com Girls All-Freshman Team, based on results from both the indoor and outdoor track seasons, with the following comment: "No county athlete topped Doll's full mile time of 5:02.53 during the indoor or outdoor season. She surprised people by scaring Morgane Gay at the Montgomery Invitational and went on to win the county, regional and state titles in the 1600-meter run. She earned All-American status in the freshman mile at Nike Indoor Nationals."
In other post-season honors, distance runner Eliot Gerson and sprinter Terrance James earned honorable mentions on the MoCoRunning.com Boys All-Freshman Team. Congratulations!

The B-CC All-Sports Boosters purchase a silver engraved star for the student-athlete that the coach has designated as the example of sportsmanship on his/her team. It is given not only for hard work and personal improvement, but also for a willingness to understand, to learn, to enter into a partnership with the coaches and teammates in an effort to recognize one’s full potential. At the same time, this person has taken an individual sport to its highest team level by consistently placing personal goals subordinate to the team’s needs and goals. The 2008 boys winner is David Segun, and the girls winner - for the second year in a row! - is Selam Andu.

There were no firsts, but several strong performances as the B-CC track and field team competed at the 3A State Championships May 23 and 24, at Morgan State University in Baltimore to close out the season. Addie Tousley brought home a couple of seconds, in the 1600 and 3200, and the boys 4x600 meter relay also finished second. Congratulations, Barons, on a great season!

Both the boys and girls team finished fourth in the 3A West regional championships. First-place winners were both the boys and girls 4x800 meter relays, Addie Tousley and Dylan Straughan in the 3200 meter runs, Addie again in the 1600 meter run, and Hannah Richardson in the 800 meter run.

Alex Doll (freshman; 2:21), Paige Donnelly (sophomore; 2:22), Addie Tousley (junior; 2:20), and Hannah Richardson (junior; 2:21) ran an awesome race in the 4x800 at Penn Relays on April 24. The team (who happen to also be the Maryland State 3A Indoor Champions this year) finished in a personal-best time of 9:24.78, which earned them a 24th-place finish out of 70 teams from across the country. Congratulations!
