Submissions/Participation
The Tattler is a student run newspaper.
Articles may be submitted by any B-CC student. The articles
are peer edited and given a final review by Mr. Virden.
There is a variety
of articles published in The Tattler, ranging from
B-CC news and sports, national and international news, feature
articles and human interest stories, editorials, and music
and movie reviews. Students occasionally submit unsolicited
articles for publication but most topics are chosen in a
brainstorming session with the editorial staff and Mr. Virden.
Once topics for the upcoming issue are chosen, they are
assigned to a member of the staff. Staff writers are assigned
to articles based in part on their ability to be impartial.
Letters to the editor must be submitted to Mr. Virden in
the English Department in room A308.
Students interested
in working on the staff of The Tattler must have
taken Journalism I. Students become a member of The
Tattler staff by getting accepted in the Journalism
II course. Journalism II can be taken more than once, so
students can continue working on the staff. Many students
who work on The Tattler go onto working
on their college newspapers.
