B-CC Theater and Media Arts Program Productions
The B-CC Theater and Media Arts Program is unique among high school theater programs since it provides students with opportunities to both develop and apply their craft within an integrated framework under the guidance of a caring, experienced faculty. Students can take advantage of a multitude of after-school, extra-curricular productions as well as a wide variety of theater-related courses during the school day which include advanced, conservatory-style offerings. Students who complete the full conservatory program can also receive academic recognition from the International Baccalaureate Program. In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in the school Drama Club, a student-run organization that promotes and supports the productions at B-CC and organizes various events throughout the academic year. Finally, students with advanced theater experience can also apply for membership in the Theater Honor Society, whose members essentially serve as role models, mentors, and tutors for incoming theater program students.

"Let There Be Light" Fundraising Campaign
The Theater Dept. and Parent Boosters is conducting a fundraising campaign to upgrade the lighting on B-CC’s stage. Other MCPS High Schools with active theater, music and other school programs like ours have 100 to 150 lights for their use in their auditoriums. We currently have 60 lights. This limits our stage capabilities and doesn’t provide the school with appropriate lighting for the many shows, performances and other activities conducted throughout the year. Our goal is to raise $30,000 to purchase 30 to 50 new lighting units. Your help will allow our students to reach a new level of creativity.
As of January 24, 2012 we've raised over $17,000.
