Bio:
Born in nearby Olney, Maryland, Aaron Taylor finds his new
position as an English and theater teacher at B-CC "exactly
what I was looking for." In 10th grade, Mr. Taylor followed
his friends into the high school's theater program, which
inspired him to pursue theater professionally. Mr. Taylor
went on to earn two degrees from the University of Maryland:
one in theater, and the second in secondary education, specializing
in English and theater. At college, he worked in wardrobe,
lighting, costume, and stage management. His directing debut
was with The Real Inspector Hound by Tom Stoppard (he was
the dead body in his high school production of the play).
Besides his teaching duties, 10th-grade English honors
and Theater 1, Mr. Taylor will direct the fall and spring
plays and be involved with the Theater Festival. Mr. Taylor
is quite active as a club sponsor, taking on the Improv,
Drama, Shakespeare and WTP Biking clubs.
In his spare time, Mr. Taylor enjoys painting and drawing
and just "chilling out." Asked to name his favorite all-time
book, Mr. Taylor unhesitatingly offered F. Scott Fitzgerald's
The Great Gatsby because the writing "is fluid and fun to
read."
