This is a great opportunity to learn about college art programs and how to assemble together a portfolio as part of the college application process.

Any student who is interested in attending an Art Institute or College of Art and Design, or who wants to major in art at a College or University will be expected to submit a portfolio of their work. You cannot start on this project soon enough because you need to have this in addition to college applications. These institutions have specific expectations, including a lot of life drawing.

Attending this event is a good way to see what a portfolio is supposed to look like if you have not started one yet. Take examples of your work in order to get the most useful feedback. If you have already started putting together your portfolio, it's a chance to get a preliminary review with suggestions for how to improve it.

(Advice from Sally Kelly whose son, Stuart, is at Savannah College of Art and Design)
