Summer Reading Challenge 2017

summer imageBannockburn students are encouraged to build on their independent reading throughout the summer. We have provided a reading challenge for students to maintain and enhance these skills during the summer.

The Montgomery County Public Library has provided suggested summer reading lists for each grade level. Please see the links below to the reading lists for the grade level your child will enter next year. Students in grades 1-5 are encouraged to read every day. Students are encouraged to complete the reading log and BINGO activities. The BINGO form needs to be returned to their teacher by Friday, September 8, 2017 in order to receive a special reward!!! We are aiming for 100% participation.

Parents…you may read to your child as part of their reading log. Reading aloud is another way for students to experience great books and to build oral language. And, don’t forget to ask them about what you’re reading. This natural conversation provides insight into what your child understands and helps them go beyond the printed page.

Bannockburn's Summer Math Challenge 2017

Incoming and returning Bannockburn students are encouraged to use the linked calendars appropriate to their grade and the recommended Websites to review the concepts learned in math during the 2016-2017 school year. Reviewing the learned skills will maintain the foundation for math success at the next grade level. Go Math!
