THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE BEST MIDDLE SCHOOL IN THE COUNTRY, BENJAMIN BANNEKER MIDDLE SCHOOL
Dear Parent,
Thanks very much for signing up for Online Family and helping your school compete for $20,000 in the Norton Cyber Safe Challenge. We’re contacting you to let you know that there is one step remaining that you’ll need to finish in order to count your participation toward your school’s total: you need to finish setting up Online Family by installing the product on one of the computers that your kids use. Once you finish setting up the product, your registration will be counted toward your school’s entry in the contest.
By doing this, you’ll get a free subscription to Online Family that allows you to gain insight into what your kids are doing online, limit the amount of time kids spend on the computer, and block inappropriate websites.
To finish setting up the product, follow these steps:
(1) From a computer that your kids use, open a web browser and go to Family Safety
(2) Click on the “Download” button to download the Norton Safety Minder. (Click “Run” if your browser asks you to run or save the file. You can always return to the site from other computers to install on another machine.)
(3) In the “Set up Account” dialog, type in the email address and password that you used when signing up for Online Family. (If you have forgotten your password, open a web browser and go to onlinefamily.norton.com/, enter your email address & ‘Forgot Password’ to receive an email with your password.)
(4) Follow the instructions to provide Online Family with a name for the computer, and select which Windows user accounts your kids use that you’d like to monitor with Online Family. Once the setup is complete, your registration will be counted toward your school’s total. You can log in to onlinefamily.norton.com at any time to view your kids online activity.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact cmckenna@symantec.com or james_revell@symantec.com – thanks for using Online Family & participating in the Norton Cyber Safe Challenge!
