Good Morning,

In honor of Digital Citizenship week, we will be posting some important tips and reminders about cyber safety for students. Be sure to discuss these tips with your parents.

Reminder #1 - any private messages can be made public online.
Even if you insist that you completely trust the recipient, once you press Send, you lose control of the message. Some “what-ifs” to consider: A recipient loses his or her phone; a friend scrolls through another’s messages; a parent checks a kid’s phone; the recipient changes his or her mind; the relationship circumstances change. Any message or photo can be copied, screenshot, or forwarded.

More tips coming throughout the week

Attention 8th grade Parents and Students: Magnet school information was given to all 8th grade students on Monday for your review. Please return the tear off portion of the packet to your math teachers asap.

The Baker PTA and STEM Committee Presents: Science Fair and Expo Night on November 14, 2017. See Baker Web site for details.

Attention Writers! If you love writing stories, we have the club for you - Word Warriors! We meet every Wednesday after school in room 227. Starting November 1, we are beginning our National Novel Writing Month Contest. To get more information, find Mrs. Friedman in the English Book Room for a Permission Slip.

Good Morning,

In honor of Digital Citizenship week, we will be posting some important tips and reminders about cyber safety for students. Be sure to discuss these tips with your parents.
Digital Citizenship Tip of the day:
Not everyone wants to have their photo shared with the rest of the world! Especially if the person considers the photo to be unflattering or give a negative impression when taken out of context. Have a family discussion of values and expectations around photo sharing. Set boundaries together.

Due to last week's rainout, the girls’ softball team has away games TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY this week. They are to check in with their 7th period teacher and leave to get ready for the game at 2:20. They should also check in with their 7th period teacher at Bulldog Time to catch up on what they missed.

Cross Country - We have a home meet today and tomorrow. You will leave class at 2:50, get changed and meet out back. See you then!!!!

Attention students interested in Garden Club.
We will be using our pressed flowers for a craft on Thursday 10/19/17 this week. Bring your lunch to the media center - your flowers look amazing!
Students that missed the flower pressing activity can still join us - we have some extras available.

Good Morning,

Attention 8th grade Parents and Students: Magnet school information was given to all 8th grade students on Monday for your review. Please return the tear off portion of the packet to your math teachers asap.

We had our first cross country meet and everyone did great despite the heat. Our girls won the meet by a landslide.... Maura Kane and Hannah Siever came in first and second place! The boys did a great job, Owen Beabout and Colby Cornwell came in first and second for Baker. Great job cross country! See you Thursday for our home meet.

The Baker Boys’ Softball Team defeated Neelsville boys’ softball team 22-4 on Tuesday. Every player on the team contributed with at least one hit. The defense played very well. The boys play Rocky Hill Middle School on Thursday at home.

The Baker Girls’ Softball Team started their season with a 14-0 win against Neelsville! Madison Curtis pitched 7 shutouts innings and also contributed 4 hits on offense. Camryn Manoogian, Morgan Ward, and Leilani Bernstein all scored 3 runs each, with Leilani also adding 5 runs batted in. Olivia Quick also chipped in 4 runs batted in. There is no practice today and the girls play again on Thursday at Rocky Hill! Way to go Lady Bulldogs!

Interested in joining the Book Wars club? Our first meeting will be held on Wednesday, October the 11th during all lunches. Bring your lunch to the media center and learn all about the books and the competition! It's lots of fun! You don't have to commit to reading the entire book list to be a part of the club. Stop by the media center and see Mrs. Walker for more info!
