Baker Middle School Good morning, 8th grade dedications are still being accepted. Please don't delay, get your dedication for your 8th grade son or daughter in today. Space is very limited. Email dedications to Lisa_L_Burdette@mcpsmd.org. The SGA is holding a Valentine dance on Friday, Feb 10, 7:00-9:30. Purchase your ticket for $5 at lunch all week. They are also selling flowers and candy during lunch through Wednesday of this week that will be delivered during Bulldog Time on Valentine’s Day. LOOKING AHEAD: MSA Words of the Week Parents: A PTA meeting will be held on Thursday, February 16. The topic for discussion will be bullying. The speaker at this meeting will be Ms. Lori Leister, the resource counselor at Baker. Need a Valentine gift for that special someone? Check out the PTA’s fundraiser where you can shop for Valentine’s Day and help support the 8th grade end of the year celebration all at the same time. See the John T. Baker PTA Fundraiser flyer and shop now! This is a reminder to all students and parents going to Costa Rica this summer! We will be having a mandatory meeting Feb. 15 at 2:50 in room #101. Parents are welcome to attend, but not required. Students going on the trip will need to bring a copy of their passports. If you have any questions please contact Sra. Hernandez or Sra. Dupré. Baker Students! Here is your chance to have a lot of fun this summer! Host a foreign exchange student and learn about another country. It is also a great chance to practice your Spanish-speaking skills. The students will be here for three weeks and want to learn about American culture. If you are interested, email Mrs. Bridget Friedman and she will give you more details. 8th grade student: We are having Study Circle meetings here at Baker on Thursdays. The remaining meetings are on February 16th , and 23rd. We are asking for 8th grade students to help us out with child care. There are about 5 students between ages 5 – 11. 8th grade students, who are interested, please see Mr. Bradley. SSl hours will be given to all who participate. 8th Grade Parents: The PTA has already started planning 8th grade promotion activities including the “exclusive” 8th grade celebration dance on June 8th. See their FLYER on the Baker web site. Safeway Escrip: Don't forget to go to www.escrip.com<http://www.escrip.com/> and register your Safeway club card to credit Baker Middle School (6643335). This is one of our easiest fundraisers and brought in over $6000 last year! Stay in the know with this week’s edition of the Baker Paw Prints.
