What is the Athletic Program?

The Athletic Program is a planned extension of the Physical Education and Intramural Programs. Although the Athletic Program offers a higher level of competition, its primary purpose is to provide the opportunity for advanced skill development for all students with interests and/or talents in athletics. The Athletic Program takes place after school on most Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Three sports will be offered throughout the year…softball, basketball and soccer.

Who is allowed to participate in the Athletic Program?

All seventh and eighth grade students may participate in the Athletic Program assuming they are academically eligible and have a current health inventory form on file.

May I participate on more than one team?

Yes, you may try-out for more than one team per year.

How much does it cost?

All participants must pay the Montgomery County Public School extracurricular activity (ECA) fee. Click here to get the ECA Fee Form or pick up an ECA fee form from the bulletin board in the main gym. Another option is to pay this fee online. Please be sure to pay any financial obligations to Ms. Mein in the main office in order to participate in extracurricular activities.

What form do I need to complete?

All students participating in the athletic program must complete the Health Inventory, which includes a physical evaluation by a physician or nurse practitioner. Click on the following link below to get a copy: Health Inventory.

For further information please contact, Greg Kellner. Start dates and permission slips will be made available on the bulletin board in the main gym.
