About This School

Search School Web Site

Seneca Valley High School, home of the Screaming Eagles, is a highly engaged, diverse teaching and learning community. Rigorous academics, a rich arts program, and a full range of extra-curricular activities, contribute to making our school a dynamic place for students, staff, and parents. Seneca Valley’s implementation of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme adds yet another dimension to our community by helping us redefine ourselves, using an international standard of excellence. Through this program, students are challenged to consider the importance of communication, cultural awareness, and connections between school life and the world around them. In addition to IB, the school has a nationally recognized wall-to-wall academy program that includes Academies of Human Services, Business and Finance, Arts and Media, and Science and Technology. We are a school community on the move, constantly providing an atmosphere of growth for teachers, students, and parents alike.

About the Independent Activity Fund

Independent Activity Funds (IAF) are established to promote the general welfare, education, and morale of students, as well as to finance the recognized extracurricular activities of the student body. Audits are conducted to make sure the funds are being spent in compliance with MCPS policy and to offer suggestions for continuous improvement. IAF reports completed after January 1, 2012 are posted to this site.
