A 16-member state task force has prepared a draft report and recommendations for public review and comment on issues related to a review of the authority, size, composition, and responsibilities of the Montgomery County Board of Education.

A public hearing on the findings and recommendations will be held on September 13, 2001, in the third floor hearing room of the Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Avenue in Rockville. The full 16-page report is available as a pdf file at the link below.

The Montgomery County School Board Composition Task Force was established by legislation adopted in the 2000 session of the Maryland General Assembly to study the size of the board, how school board districts are drawn in the county, the authority of the student board member, and the compensation for board members.
