Paint Branch High School Celebrates National Blue Ribbon and New American High School Awards with Ceremony and Reception for School Community

October 11, 2000
A community celebration and reception at Paint Branch High School on Friday, October 13, at 7:00 p.m. will recognize the school's achievement in winning two prestigious awards from the U.S. Department of Education.

Earlier this year, Paint Branch was designated a 2000 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence for its outstanding instruction, strong leadership, positive school climate, and parent and community support. The school also was named a New American High School, among ten "leading edge" schools characterized by "challenging academic standards and effective preparation for college and careers."

During the October 13 evening ceremony, which will follow a pep rally at the school earlier in the day, an official Blue Ribbon flag will be presented to the community, staff and students in appreciation for their commitment to the school's educational program. Numerous local officials will participate in the festivities.
