Media Advisory: Superintendent Starr to Deliver First “State of the Schools Address” on Nov. 12

Superintendent of Schools Joshua P. Starr will deliver his first State of the Schools address—Building the Future Together— TOMORROW, November 12, at the Music Center at Strathmore. The event, which begins at 7:30 a.m., is an opportunity for business, non-profit and educational leaders to hear Dr. Starr’s vision for the future of MCPS.
The event will also highlight the outstanding achievements and talents of Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) students.

The event will begin with a light breakfast and the opportunity to view student performances and artwork throughout the Music Center at Strathmore. Dr. Starr will deliver his address in the Concert Hall at 8:30 a.m. Montgomery County Board of Education president Shirley Brandman as well as other business and educational leaders will also offer remarks at the event. The State of the Schools event is free and open to public and is expected to end by 9:30 a.m.
