Media Advisory: Superintendent Starr to Hold Final Spring Forum on Social and Emotional Learning

Superintendent of Schools Joshua P. Starr will hold his fourth and final spring forum of the school year on the topic of social and emotional learning on Thursday, May 10, at Walt Whitman High School. The forum will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and the public is encouraged to attend. Attendees will learn about social and emotional learning and how it can be promoted at home, in our schools and community. The format of the meeting will be interactive and will include remarks by Dr. Starr and a guest speaker, followed by small-group discussions.

Dr. Starr held three forums earlier in the spring on the topics of English language learners, gifted education and special education. Video and related materials from these forums are available on the MCPS website.
