In August, Dr. Jerry D. Weast announced he will retire on June 30, after 12 years as Superintendent of Schools for MCPS. The Board of Education conducted a national search for Dr. Weast’s successor with the assistance of the search firm Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates. The new Superintendent is expected to take the helm at MCPS on July 1.
