An excellent article on the reading program and new initiatives of the Montgomery County Public Schools was published today [Thursday, April 6] in the Baltimore Sun entitled "Bellwether district for teaching reading".
The article features Rosemont Elementary School, which just won the 2000 Exemplary Reading Program Award from the State of Maryland International Reading Association Council (SoMIRAC), making this the sixth consecutive year that an MCPS school has earned the prestigious award.
