Board of Education Changes Meeting Date to April 28

April 21, 2009
The Montgomery County Board of Education announces a change of date for its next business meeting, which will shift from Monday, April 27, to Tuesday, April 28. The change is being made because Board members will need to testify in a Maryland State Board of Education hearing that will take place in the late afternoon on April 27.

The April 28 Board meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the Board of Education meeting room, in the Carver Educational Services Center, 850 Hungerford Drive in Rockville. The agenda is available on the Board’s web page.

Any individuals interested in offering public comments at the April 28 Board of Education meeting may call the Board Office at 301-279-3617 on April 27 to sign up. The Board has fifteen slots available for public comments. Ten of the 15 slots for public comments are for speakers who wish to comment on issues that are on the agenda for that day’s Board meeting. The other five slots will be reserved for speakers who wish to comment on other issues that are not specifically on the agenda. Speakers who wish to address issues relating to the day’s agenda are asked to call between 10 to 10:30 a.m. on April 27 to sign up to testify. Those who wish to address other issues are asked to call between 11 to 11:30 a.m. on April 27. Unallocated slots may be filled—first come, first served—on the day of the meeting by signing the appropriate sheet at the Board meeting no later than 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time for Public Comments.
