MCPS Semifinalists in the Intel Science Talent Search Will Be Named in Public Announcement at Montgomery Blair High School

Large Number of Montgomery County Semifinalists Anticipated

Intel and Science Service, the organization that administers the Intel Science Talent Search, are scheduled to announce the names of students in Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) who have been named semifinalists in the prestigious science competition. The announcement is scheduled for Wednesday, January 17, at 12:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Montgomery Blair High School.

Students and faculty at Montgomery Blair High School will be present as students learn for the first time that they gave gained semifinalist status. Blair students have a history of outstanding performance in the competition. Last year, the school had 12 semifinalists, tying with a school in New York for the largest number of semifinalists in the country. One of the semifinalists, Blair senior Chelsea Zhang, went on to become the national third place winner.
