Ideas for Summer Activities Featured at Jan. 12 Meeting

December 22, 2005
The Division of Family and Community Partnerships will host the 2006 Summer Search Family Night on Thursday, January 12, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the cafeteria at Richard Montgomery High School. The snow date for the event is Wednesday, January 18.

Summer Search Family Night offers parents and students an opportunity to meet program directors, obtain applications, learn about scholarships, and receive a copy of the new catalog of summer opportunities, Summer Search 2006: Expanding Educational Horizons. The catalog includes a variety of summer experiences focusing on areas such as fine arts, math and science, college preparation, and internships, as well as traditional and sports camps.

The cost of attending each program varies. Some programs are free-of-charge, while others require tuition and/or travel expenses. Many programs offer scholarships or need-based financial assistance. Some senior-level programs allow students to obtain college credit.
