Patricia O'Neill Is Elected President of MABE

Members of the Maryland Association of Boards of Education (MABE) have elected Patricia B. O'Neill as president of the organization for the next year, beginning October 2005. Mrs. O'Neill is currently serving her third term as president of the Montgomery County Board of Education.

The election took place at MABE's annual meeting in Ocean City on September 28.

Other elected officers are William J. Phalen, Sr., Calvert County (president-elect); Jose R. Morales, Prince George's County (treasurer); and Sandra L. Barry, Caroline County (secretary).

MABE participates in statewide initiatives affecting public schools and partners with other members of the educational community. The organization also plays an active role nationally through its affiliation with the National School Boards Association.
