Pedestrian Safety a Focus as School Opens Aug. 30

Local officials will join at a press conference to bring attention to pedestrian safety and the added importance of safe driving as students return to school. National Stop on Red Week coincides this year with the opening of school on August 30.

The press conference will take place on Monday, August 23, at 12:30 p.m. at John F. Kennedy High School. Among the participants will be County Executive Douglas Duncan, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jerry D. Weast, members of the Board of Education, Delegate Bill Bronrott, and safety and security leaders.
