Teleconference to Focus on Ways to Prevent Bullying

Educators and interested community members will have an opportunity to participate in a live, interactive satellite teleconference and Webcast called “Take a Stand. Lend a Hand. Stop Bullying Now!” The teleconference is scheduled for Monday, April 19th, from 7:30 until 9:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Carver Educational Service Center, 850 Hungerford Drive in Rockville. The telecast also can be accessed through a computer with Internet connectivity. To register for the Webcast, go to www.mchcom.com (see link below) and follow the instructions provided.

The teleconference is part of an anti-bullying campaign sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Health Resources and Services Administration, and U.S. Surgeon General Richard Carmona. The moderator of the teleconference will be WJLA-TV news anchor Leon Harris. Participants will include Peter van Dyck, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; William Modzeleski, U.S. Department of Education; Susan Limber, Clemson University; and Donna Mazyck, Maryland State Department of Education.
