Montgomery County Public Schools will open two hours late on Thursday, March 22, 2018, due to emergency weather conditions. Bus service will be provided on a two-hour-delayed schedule. Morning prekindergarten, morning half-day Head Start, other morning half-day programs and field trips are canceled. Other activities and programs that begin at 10:50 a.m. or earlier are canceled. Administrative offices will open on time. Day care programs in school buildings may remain open as scheduled.

Las Escuelas Públicas del Condado de Montgomery (MCPS) abrirán dos horas más tarde el jueves, 22 de marzo de 2018 debido a las condiciones del tiempo. El servicio de autobús escolar será provisto con dos horas de retraso. Los programas de prekindergarten, los programas de Head Start en la mañana, otros programas de medio día durante horas de la mañana y excursiones escolares quedan canceladas. Actividades y programas que comienzan a las 10:50 a.m. o antes quedan canceladas. Las oficinas administrativas abrirán en horario regular. Los programas de cuidado infantil en los edificios escolares podrán abrir en horario regular.

UPDATE: Programs in MCPS Schools Resume Today, July 5; 11 Schools and Facilities Still Without Power

Programs and activities in Montgomery County Public Schools willresume today, Thursday, July 5. However, all activities and programs arecanceled in 10 schools that still do not have power. The schools and facilitieswithout power are: 

BeallElementary School 
Blair Ewing Center 
Chevy Chase Elementary School 
Farmland Elementary School 
Gaithersburg Middle School 
Northwood High School
Olney Elementary School 
Rocking Horse Road Center
Stonegate Elementary School 
Washington Grove Elementary School
Julius West Middle School 

High school summer courses at regional centers will resume today atBethesda-Chevy Chase HS, Clarksburg HS and Churchill HS. The daily schedulewill be extended to make up for lost instructional time at these schools. NorthwoodHS remains WITHOUT POWER and programs at this school are cancelled for today.

Other summer school programs, some of which were slated to begin this week,will start on Monday, July 9. This includes Elementary Regional Summer School,ELO SAIL, Middle School Extended Year programs, Extended School Year forspecial education programs and Head Start summer programs. 

Community use of school buildings will resume today in schools that have power.This includes summer camps, recreation programs and daycare programs. 

MCPS administrative offices are open but employees who work in facilities thatdo not have power are not required to report. Currently the Rocking HorseRoad Center is without power.

An updated list of schools without power will be posted on Friday morning.
