Strathmore ES Community Celebrates New Rain Gardens

On Oct. 17, students from Strathmore Elementary School cut the ribbon to mark the official completion of four MCPS rain gardens. The rain gardens, built by the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection in collaboration with MCPS, provide multiple environmental benefits, including improved water quality to local streams which feed into the Potomac and Anacostia rivers. The county and MCPS have also constructed rain gardens at Argyle, Newport Mill and Sligo middle schools.
