Olney ES Fourth Graders Build Oyster Habitats for the Chesapeake Bay

Olney Elementary School fourth graders are helping to build habitats for oysters in the Chesapeake Bay. The students are mixing cement and building large reef balls that will act as the habitats (similar to man-made coral reefs).

The project is an extension of the fourth grade science unit on pollution and how humans affect the environment.
The balls will be taken to Brighton Dam and placed in the Bay.
