Report on Disproportionality in Montgomery County Public Schools
Montgomery County Public Schools recognizes a moral imperative to achieve equity for all student subgroups and eliminate racial disparities, including disproportionality among students with disabilities.
The Report on Disproportionality in Montgomery County Public Schools reports data demonstrating disproportionate representation by race or ethnicity in certain disability categories, placement in particular settings, and disciplinary actions. The report describes recommendations from the Disproportionality Steering Committee convened to review current policies and practices and to offer recommendations to reduce disproportionality. The Report on Disproportionality in Montgomery County Public Schools contains a detailed action plan that has been developed to implement these recommendations.
A cross-functional project team will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the recommendations and monitoring progress toward eliminating disproportionality.
