parent guides are targeted to specific communities within the
school system and designed assist
parents in supporting their children’s development of
strong academic skills and confidence as learners, preparation
for challenging instruction at all grade levels, and awareness
of opportunities for college acceptance, success and
financial aid.Published

Aim for Success! informs
all families about what they should know to help their
children excel in challenging instruction in elementary,
middle, and high school. A rigorous education is critical
to a child’s success in today’s society.
The booklet includes information about county-wide
programs, gifted education, honors and AP courses,
and much more.
Aim High! informs
parents of African American students about opportunities
for rigorous education within the Montgomery County
Public Schools and encourages parents to become advocates
for their children to ensure that they receive
the appropriate level of challenging instruction.
This newly updated and more comprehensive version
of the original “Aim High!” reflects
the unique collaboration of the school system
and leaders and parents in the African American
community. The booklet also is available
in French.
Conquista
tu Sueño/Aim High! is designed to assist
parents of Hispanic students with information that
will help them guide their children to challenging
academic opportunities. Written in English and Spanish, “Conquista tu Sueño” is
a collaborative effort between the school system
and members of the Hispanic community, who provided
guidance in the planning and production of the booklet.
Working Together! is
designed to reach out to parents of Asian American
students, providing information that will help them
improve their children's success in elementary, middle,
and high school. “Working Together” is
the result of a unique collaboration between the school
system and members of the Asian American community,
who provided guidance in the planning and production
of the booklet. The booklet is available in English,
Cambodian, Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese.
