The MCPS Web Services Team seeks to hire three talented temporary web staff:
The summer intern staff will work on upgrades to the MCPS Web and improvements to the web publishing process this summer. Caveat: these paid positions
are dependent on the availability of budget and/or grant funds.
Our focus in the summer of 2007 will be on continuing to roll out our web publishing system, called Tron. Interns will help us migrate content from school and office
web sites into the system. School web sites will also need new, CSS-based web designs.
Summer positions with Web Services offer the best web students in MCPS a fantastic opportunity to grow their professional web
skills, build their portfolios, and make a very visible impact on the MCPS Web. The experience is a valuable capstone to academic
work. We’re a fast-paced web shop, so only intermediate to expert folks need apply. They’ll learn from us, and we often
learn from them. We also tend to treat them to ice cream on particularly hot days.
While most of our crew have been MCPS students, we’ve also hired an adult making a career change via a Montgomery College
technology education program who went on to work for a Bethesda web development firm. Quite a few of these students developed
their own freelance web businesses. View the Alumni
List of past summer interns.
The positions are full time, typically run 8 to 10 weeks from June to August, and are located at the MCPS central office, the
Carver Educational Services Center (CESC), 850 Hungerford Drive, in Rockville. See
