Ruth Fajner

Ruth serves as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired and Assitive Technology Specialist.

Originally from Argentina, this is also where she received her formal education. In 1990, she moved to the states with her husband and 3 daughters.

Upon moving to the states, Ruth worked for DCPS for five years where she taught special education and then later the vision program. Ruth has been working for MCPS in her current capacity since 1998. Currently she works as an itinerant teacher with students K-12. In addition, Ruth facilitates a summer ESY course that specializes independent living skills that targets visually impaired students at the secondary level.

Special interest of Ruth is assistive technology for students with visual impairments. At present, she is persuing her Masters degree in Technology for the Educator at Johns Hopkins University.
