Lots of information about braille exists on the internet. Below you will find lots of links to external sites and pages about braille. Some are most appropriate for students, for teachers of the visually impaired, or for others.

For information and sites about downloading books in braille from the internet, please see the E-text page.

For students:

Braille Bug. This wonderful site is the perfect introduction to braille for elementary school students. Be sure to check out the games section to see your name in visual braille. Braille readers should check out the braille reading club.

For teachers of the visually impaired:

New York Institute for Special Education's Braille Links List - Comprehensive listing of links with information about braille.

For others:

Dotless Braille. This site provides a description of braille that is thorough and goes beyond the typical simplified description usually given to children.
