Braille 'n Speak |
||
Freedom Scientific's Braille and Speak page This is the main web page for the Braille and Speak. There is very little useful information on this site. Currently, there is little information available about the Braille and Speak other than the information on Freedom Scientific's web pages. Also, the mailing list for the BNS is pretty inactive. The MCPS Vision program owns 2 types of Braille and Speaks: the 640 and the 2000. The primary difference between the two devices is that the 640 is an older model, has less memory, and has square ports (or connectors). The primary advantage to the BNS 2000 is its larger memory which enables a student to retain more files in the device. To determine which BNS device you have, look at or feel the two ports on the left side of the device. If your ports are square, then you have a BNS 640. If your ports are round, then you have a BNS 2000. Batteries, Chargers, and the Braille and Speak. This page describes which chargers work with each model and tips for charging the batteries. Using the Braille and Speak to Write Print Characters for Math and Foreign Languages This long page is a compilation of several articles which describes how to use your Braille and Speak to create print characters for math or foreign languages. A Word version of the page also exists for reading or download. BNS movies. This web page has several movies showing a Canadian student using a Braille and Speak. Quicktime is required to view the movies. |
