Mental Health Crisis Support

To help students in a time of crisis, each MCPS school has a student services team consisting of school counselors, a school psychologist, a pupil personnel worker, and a school nurse.

This team provides services and supports to students so that they are available for learning. In the event of an individual or school wide crisis, the goal of the team is to return those effected to their academic focus as quickly as possible. In addition to training and skills related to their professions, team members are trained to support students and schools during and after a crisis using a model developed in collaboration with the Montgomery County Crisis Center, and partnership with MCPS Employee Assistance Program, and the Mental Health Association of Montgomery County. If you have a concern about your child, please contact any member of the student services team for assistance.

The MCPS Employee Assistance Program provides crisis support services and referral information for MCPS employees.
