Caithness
Shelter Home
A transition teacher is assigned to Caithness (a 30-90
day shelter for adolescents) to facilitate the enrollment
of these students into the appropriate educational setting
for their stay at Caithness.
Emory
Grove Center
The upper Montgomery County alternative high school
program for students who are not achieving at their
potential for a wide variety of reasons, usually including
behavior and/or attendance problems. Students are referred
by their home schools. Emory Grove offers academic instruction
in coursework for credits toward a high school diploma
as well as a behavioral/social skills component which
gives students the skills necessary to return to their
home schools and succeed.
Fleet
Street
The middle school alternative program for students who
are placed through the Chief Operating Officer in lieu
of expulsion. Fleet Street provides academic instruction
as well as a behavioral/social skills component which
gives students the skills necessary to return to their
home schools and succeed.
Glenmont
The lower Montgomery County alternative middle school
program for students who are not achieving at their
potential for a wide variety of reasons, usually including
behavior and/or attendance problems. Students are referred
by their home schools. Glenmont provides academic instruction
as well as a behavioral/social skills component which
gives students the skills necessary to return to their
home schools and succeed.
Hadley
Farms
The upper Montgomery County alternative middle school
program for students who are not achieving at their
potential for a wide variety of reasons, usually including
behavior and/or attendance problems. Students are referred
by their home schools. Hadley Farms provides academic
instruction as well as a behavioral/social skills component
which gives students the skills necessary to return
to their home schools and succeed.
Karma
Academy
A group home for high school aged males. Alternative
programs offers an in-board school to provide educational
services to residents.
McKenney
Hills Center

by their home schools. McKenney Hills offers academic
instruction in coursework for credits toward a high
school diploma as well as a behavioral/social skills

Phoenix
at McKenney Hills Center & Phoenix
at Emory Grove Center
A recovery support program committed to providing a
safe and caring place for students to receive their
education while they are in treatment for substance
abuse. Although treatment must take place outside the
school day, the school program provides students with
substance abuse recovery support and monitoring as well
as academic instruction in coursework for credits toward
a high school diploma.
Randolph
Academy
The high school alternative programs for students who
are placed through the Chief Operating Officer in lieu
of expulsion. Randolph provides individualized academic
instruction in courses for credit towards a high school
diploma as well as a behavioral/social skills component
which gives students the skills necessary to return
to their home schools and succeed. Randolph also oversees
the 45-day interim educational setting for special education
students grades 6-12, located in Mark Twain School.
