The Executive Board of MCR is comprised of elected officers
as well as appointed staff. In addition, the student
government president (or his/her representative) is
a member of the board. All executive board members are
required to attend the meetings.
Exeuctive Board members receive student
service learing hours for their work in this organization.
Attached is the SSL form that students should complete
and return to the Student Affairs Office for verification
before the end of the semester (Summer hours are due
at the end of September) (pdf)

Each spring, the MCR officers are elected and staff
applies and is appointed to the executive board. Information
is distributed at the March MCR General Assembly meeting.
In addition, the packet is sent to high schools with
the March newsletter. Information about elections and
appointments are posted on the MCR
Elections page.
All meetings are held at Carver Educational Services
Center (directions
to CESC). Most of the meetings are held in the back
of the cafeteria at CESC. There is a door into the cafeteria
just before the North Entrance to the building (by the
reserved Board of Education parking spaces). Some meetings
may be scheduled in the auditorium (directly inside
the North Entrance).

| Meeting
Synopsis: The first meeting of the 2008-2009 Executive
Board was convened after past and current staff
enjoyed making ice cream sundaes. Guest speakers
Juan Cardenas (HSA Information) and Hans Reimer
(Purple Line Information) presented and received
feedback from students. The MCR President presented
a slide show outlining tentative plans for the upcoming
year, incorporating evaluations and feedback from
last year's observations. The Officer Team then
met with their subordinate staff positions to discuss
goals for next year. Mrs. Crawford, the MCR Advisor,
made a few quick reminders about staff paperwork,
the July 1st SMOB swearing-in, MCPS QuickNotes,
and past staff certificates. |

MCR Advance - with the new executive
board and high school presidents
|
The MCR president (or his/her designee) will attend
MASC Executive Board meetings. Other MCR staff and students
are invited to attend. MASC executive board meets around
the state in different counties. The meetings are generally
during the morning. Details may be obtained by checking
the MASC web (www.masconline.info)

December
2, 2008 (7:00 - 8:30pm) is the annual meeting of the
student leaders in Montgomery County and the Board of
Education. All executive board members are expected
to attend. All schools should send at least 3, but no
