Meeting with the Board of Eduation:
Tuesday December 1, 2009
POSTPONED - The Board of Education is rescheduling the December 1st Student Leaders Meeting with the Board of Education.

The bill hearing for the SMOB Voting Rights is scheduled on the same day as the student leaders meeting with the Board of Education. This will be the only day for testimony to be given on local bills. Therefore, the Board of Education is rescheduling the student leaders meeting so the student leaders may attend and testify at this bill hearing.

http://www.montgomerycountydelegation.com/MC12-10.html

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, encourage at minimum the SGA president and other student leaders to attend this local hearing in Rockville. Click on the link above for full information, a copy of the bill, and the link to register to testify!

On December 1, 2009, the Board of Education will meet from 7:00–9:00 p.m. in the auditorium at the Carver Educational Services Center with student leaders from secondary schools and the executive boards of the Montgomery County Regional Student Government Association and Montgomery County Junior Councils. The Montgomery County Public Schools executive staff also will be in attendance. This meeting is an opportunity for students to have an open dialogue with members of the Board of Education.

Three to six student leaders from each secondary school may attend this meeting. Although these students need not be recognized student leaders, they should be able to represent and share the views of your school’s diverse group of students.

Interested students should talk to the student government advisor at their school as soon as possible but before December 1, 2009. School SGA advisors (and MCJC staff) should register their attendance at (link to register - no password needed). All questions should be referred to Mrs. Karen Crawford, coordinator, Student Affairs Office, at Karen_L_Crawford@mcpsmd.org or 301-670-1419.

Questions? Contact the Student Affairs Office at Karen_L_Crawford@mcpsmd.org
