The Montgomery County Region (MCR) of the Maryland Association of Student Councils (MASC) is the high school student government organization that has representation from our twenty-three high schools. This group discusses and takes action on issues, problems, and concerns in our schools, as well as engaging in countywide activities.

Middle School Level - MCJC

Montgomery County Junior Councils (MCJC) is the middle school student government organization that has representation from our thirty-six middle schools. MCJC offers the middle school students a unique forum for their special issues as well as an excellent training ground for developing and practicing leadership skills.

State Level (Middle & High Schools) - MASC

The Maryland Association of Student Councils (MASC) is the state-level student government organization in Maryland. It is sponsored by the Maryland State Department of Education. Currently, there are 20 regions represented in MASC. MCR and MCJC are two of these active regions. (Sponsored by the Maryland State Department of Education - MSDE)

National Level (Middle & High Schools) - NASC

The National Association of Student Councils (NASC) is the national-level student government organization in the United States. It is sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). MCR and MCJC, as well as other regions in MASC, send representatives to the NASC annual conference.
