Student Government Advisor Training

Special Elementary SGA Advisor Workshop - Fall 2007

Secondary SGA Advisors

The student government association extracurricular activity stipend (MCEA) requires the seondary SGA advisor to meet twice annually with the Student Affairs Office staff. This year, only one high school SGA Advisor and one middle SGA Advisor school meeting is being offered for new advisors that will fulfill this requirement. In this required meeting, you will receive an advisor notebook and information covering items for which you are accountable. Please be on time and plan on staying for the entire meeting. Plan now to reserve this date on your calendar. An email reminder will be sent to you approximately one week before the training. Veteran advisors are welcome, but not required to attend.

High School - Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, Lakelands Park Middle School, Falcon's Nest, 7:00–9:00 pm

Middle School- Monday, October15, 2007, Lakelands Park Middle School, Falcon's Nest, 7:00–9:00 pm

SMOB Election Officials Training: The required “Student Member of the Board of Education (SMOB) Election Officials Training” is listed on this chart so that you will have plenty of time to reserve a four-hour substitute for that day. Since this training is during the school day, one advisor from each secondary school is given a half-day of professional leave to attend with his/her 3-4 student election-judges (click here for detailed training dates and times).

Call (301-670-1419) or email (Karen_L_Crawford@mcpsmd.org) if you have any questions.
