On April 30, 2008, at 6.30 p.m., the election for the thirty-first student member of the Board of Education was certified. Ms. Quratul-Ann Malik, Watkins Mill High School junior, has been elected. Of the students eligible to vote, 85.35 % voted. All of the high schools and middle schools submitted election results. One alternative program also participated in the voting.
