Encore is the online system used by MCPS
for IEPs and other Special Education meetings. As new
Special Education teachers start planning for the opening
of school, reviewing the IEPs of their students
is a critical task. While paper student confidential
files will be available for new Special Education teachers
to review in each school's secure records room, access
to these files through the secure online Encore system
will make this task much easier.
The
Department of Special Education is offering several
Encore training sessions for this group during the
summer. Since the start of school is extremely busy,
we strongly recommend that new MCPS Special Education
teachers attend one of these summer sessions. If staff
are hired after these sessions ,
there will be additional training offered in September.
All MCPS Special Education teachers are required to
attend an Encore training.
These summer sessions are only open
to newly hired Special Education teachers who have
not yet started teaching in MCPS. Newly hired teachers
who have taught in other systems should register.
The Encore summer training sessions will
take place during the week of Monday July 28 through
Friday August 1. New teachers should plan on attending
ONE all day training during this week. New teachers
will receive their regular pay for their attendance.
Each day will begin at 8:30 am and conclude at 4:00
pm. Lunch is on your own.

for Technology Innovation located at 4 Choke Cherry
Road, Suite 120 in Rockville Maryland, 20850. The number
