The Child Find office of Montgomery County Public Schools is the single point of entry providing free developmental screening for children ages three to five through spring prior to age eligibility for kindergarten. Child Find is also the single point of entry for families moving into Montgomery County whose preschool-age child was previously identified with a disability and has a current Individualized Education Program (IEP). Nonresident families with a developmental concern about their child who attends an approved Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) preschool located in Montgomery County may also contact the Child Find office. Parents or guardians may call the 24-hour Child Find Intake line at 301-947-6080 to make a referral.
Parents having questions may call 301-230-5966 between the hours of 8:30am and 5:00pm to speak with a Child Find Instructional Specialist.
