Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) encourages education research and data collection to inform instructional and administrative decision making. Research and other data collection activities in schools and offices are subject to procedures described in Regulation AFA-RA, Research and Other Data Collection Activities in Montgomery County Public Schools, designed to:
- Safeguard the privacy of current and former students, their parents, current or former staff members, and other participants in MCPS-sponsored activities;
- Limit interruptions to the instructional program; and
- Ensure the technical competency, the feasibility, and the appropriateness of research and other data collection activities in the public school setting.
