Kindergarten Initiative Year 1, Sept. 2001


This report summarizes the results of reading assessments conducted in fall, winter, and spring with the 2000-01 cohort of kindergarten students in Montgomery County Public Schools. It reports on student progress with foundational reading skills and text reading, progress of students from poverty-level families and with second language learning needs, impact of full-day versus half-day kindergarten, and impact of early entry into kindergarten of 4-year-olds.
