MCPS school assignment is based on home address. Contact the Planning Office at 301-279-3331 to determine what school a student should attend.

All students (new or reentering MCPS) must provide verification of age, residency, and immunization, unless homeless. For additional assistance with specific situations, contact:

All parents/guardians of MCPS students who are in Grade 8 during the 2004-2005 school year are required to provide documentation of their Montgomery County residency prior to these students beginning Grade 9 in the 2005-2006 school year. For information, contact the guidance secretary at the middle school attended by the child during the 2004-2005 school year.

Under the McKinney Homeless
Assistance Act, services are available to ensure that
all homeless children and youth have equal access to the
same free, appropriate public education, including public
pre-school education, provided to other youth and children.
