MCPS Careers/Applicant Tracking System

MCPS Careers will be unavailable due to required system maintenance from 6:00 pm on February 1, 2012 until 9:00 am on February 3, 2012.

About

The Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is the system Hiring Managers use to post job vacancies (requisitions), view candidates’ profiles and manage the hiring and/or transfer processes for those posted requisitions.

Announcements - latest update 7/19/2011

*IMPORTANT DEADLINE* - The Voluntary Transfer season for MCEA employees for the 2011-2012 school year  ended on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 5:00pm.  If you have any additional questions, please contact the Staffing Coordinator assigned to your school or central office location.

Reminder - Posting Teacher Vacancies:  After July 20th, when posting requisitions, hiring managers and hiring manager assistants should only post to the following sites:

  • RMI - Do Not Unpost
  • Pre-Qualified Teachers Only

Requisitions should not be posted externally or as "urgent need" jobs unless approved by staff from the Office of Human Resources and Development (OHRD).  External teacher candidates are pre-screened by OHRD and invited to apply for specific vacancies when appropriate, as reflected in the Department of Recruitment and Staffing (DRS) staffing calendar.  Because the voluntary transfer season is now closed, current employees are no longer eligible to transfer unless approved by the principal/community superintendent.  Specific process questions should be directed to the appropriate staffer within DRS.

Update on MCPS Careers for Central Office Adminstrators

The purpose of this message is to provide direction with regard to use of MCPS Careers for posting vacancies.  When using the requisition wizard to post vacancies, central service administrators must indicate Offices under the organization field and choose a city for the location field.  The Multiple Locations field should not be chosen when posting vacancies, as this affects the candidate selection workflow in the system.  This could prevent hiring managers from reviewing applicants.  Please review the attached screenshot for an example.  Should you have additional questions, please contact Travis J. Wiebe, coordinator, MCPS Careers via email.

About

Internal Applicant Records (IAR) is the electronic system Hiring Managers use to view Human Resources records for candidates who are most current employees. Giving hiring managers this tool eliminates the need to travel to the Office of Human Resources and Development (OHRD) to see relevant information in the internal candidate’s personnel file.

Please note that at this time not all internal employee files will be immediately available electronically. OHRD staff continue to work to ensure all 22,000+ employee files are available in an electronic format by 2012.
