Maryland’s web-based Educator Information System (EIS) now provides educators with access to their personal certification information, including their “digital” certificate which can be downloaded and printed as needed. PAPER CERTIFICATES WILL NO LONGER BE ISSUED BY MSDE. Local school systems have also been provided with the tools to enhance certification-related services for employed educators. You can access your certificate at any time and as often as you like. Keep reading to learn important details!
1) Click on the Fact Sheet, for important information about accessing EIS. Please follow the specific instructions on the Fact Sheet in order to access your personal information and retain a copy of this Fact Sheet for future reference.
2) Be sure to DOWNLOAD and RETAIN important renewal requirements/information. As stated on your certificate, “It is the responsibility of the holder of this certificate to know the current certification requirements and to renew this certificate prior to the expiration date.”
3) Then, click on the MSDE Educator Portal Log-In and follow the prompts on the log-in screens and refer to the Fact Sheet if you have questions.
As with any new process, it may require additional time for MSDE to handle “pending or in progress” actions. Please be patient as we all work through this exciting new process.
