Students will explore and develop a deep understanding of the characteristics and scope of technology and the influence on history, along with the relationships and connections between technology and other fields of study. Students will develop an understanding of the attributes of design and develop skills by using the design process to solve technological problems. This course does satisfy the technology education graduation requirement. This course carries 1.0 credit and is offered in a nine-week fall format with three required face-to-face lab sessions. Students are eligible to take this course after completeing 8th grade. Students entering 9th grade in the fall are eligible to take FOT during the summer before starting 9th grade in the fall. Course tuition fee is $620 per credit course. The one section for the coming fall 2011 online FOT course is listed below. The face to face locations will be held at Sherwood High School. Priority is given to seniors for the fall session of FOT.
