Personal Finance
In this course, students are taught to manage their personal and business finances effectively. The enduring understandings for Financial Management include:
- Evaluating saving and investment options to meet short and long term goals
- Applying decision making models to maximize consumer satisfaction when buying goods and services
- Analyzing factors that affect the choice of credit and the cost of credit
- Understanding legal aspects of using credit
Units in this course include: Personal Decision Making, Earning a Living, Managing Finances and Budgeting, Saving and Investing, Buying Goods and Services, Banking, Using Credit, Economics, and Protecting Against Risk.
This course carries .5 credits and is offered in a three-week summer format with two required face-to-face lab sessions. This course is open to students who have completed the 9th grade.
