Arab American
Heritage Month

Let's Celebrate Diversity:
The Montgomery County Board of Education has designated April 2001 as Arab American Heritage Month. There are approximately three million Arab Americans residing in the United States of America. Montgomery County is home to an ever increasingly active Arab American community. We applaud the tremendous contributions in the areas of politics, science, sports, entertainment, fashion, and public safety that Arab Americans have contributed to our society.

MCPS supports education that is multicultural. The history of all people should be incorporated in the curriculum throughout the year. Use Arab American Heritage Month to emphasize the historic and current impact of the Arab American experience in creating our uniquely diverse nation.
